Simon Hobson BDS MFDS

Originally from Northumberland, Simon graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Newcastle University in 2014. During his time as an undergraduate from Newcastle with Merit in Clinical Dentistry in 2014. During this time, he worked hard to broaden his horizons, undertaking extra-curricular projects for which he received awards for both for his clinical and academic activities. From that time onwards he sought to gain a broad base of experience working in the University, Hospital and Community Dental Service in the areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, Research and Special Care dentistry and Sedation. During this time Simon passed his examinations and became a Member of the Faculty Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Stepping into general practice, Simon was fortunate to spend a year working with Dr Ian Buckle at his private referral practice in the Wirral. Dr Buckle is widely respected in his field and lectures nationally and internationally with a focus on complex restorative and digital dentistry. During this time Simon completed the Dawson Academy curriculum learning how to manage complex restorative cases. Utilising the experience, he has gained thus far in his career Simon aims to provide excellent quality of care in all aspects of general dentistry with a specialist interest in cosmetic dentistry, treatment of chipped and worn teeth and complex cases with veneers, crowns and bridges. To further his expertise Simon is currently undertaking a Masters in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester, already using the skills he has learned to great effect for his patients. Outside of dentistry Simon likes to keep busy and is a keen cook, drummer and climber who can normally be found in the kitchen or out in the local hills with his partner Maria. Back to Team Page
